As you can imagine there are millions of pairs of jeans made very year, yet at the same time millions of pairs of jeans are thrown away, but denim is tough durable material which could be used for so many different things like covering furniture for instance.
This concept may seem to be a rather strange idea, after denim is not usually associated with furnishings, but in Japan the re-using of materials is a big thing and denim is coming through a good hard wearing and stylish covering for furniture. It takes three pairs of jeans to make a denim stool, but don’t worry you have to provide your own jeans for the purpose!
The artistic installation of recycled denim creations were shown at last season’s Japan Fashion Week. However, when an otherwise ordinary furniture manufacturer takes up this sort of project it shows the extent to which the idea of re-using materials (and eco-friendly lifestyle in general) has entered the mainstream psyche.

Following floral design imprints provide a wonderful counterpoint to the cold concrete on which they are impressed. The design concept allows for application of any pattern to the surface either when poring or afterwords when the concrete has set. The fine floral ornaments promotes the clean and simple character of the space while adding a touch of warm and live contrast and highlighting the cold austerity of the material.

Stark colors provide strong and vibrant contrasts to the natural wooden log edges of these highly varied and aesthetically engaging sustainable bowl designs. Taking advantage of the naturally different sizes of the various logs you could assemble a collection and select bowls to use not based on fixed and incremental sizing (as with virtually all tableware) but instead by the size you roughly need. All in all, this is a very different way to look at and think about eco-friendly design. The key, however, is that as the customer you have to keep an open mind and accept that none of these will necessarily be what you expect.
